Beyond a writer's personal boundary

A little while ago I read a beautiful article ' literature and beyond the writer's personal limits'. It really touched my soul. The writer,a senior poet, story teller and novel writer and most important an educationist writes... On reading a certain story written by him, his wife feels happy because she somehow feels she knows that lady character in the story resembles a lady whom they had met at x station while travelling sometimes.... And accuses she does not like to read his other stories as the characters are not known to her ! Here the writer comments beautifully something like this... In a writer's/poet's/novelist's life time he will write on innumerable subjects/characters , some of which he must have experienced on his own, some he must have observed so closely and made as his own experience even if it has happened outside his physical being and if everything he writes actually happens to him physically and then he writes ,then he might have to live thousand impossible years to literary experience the pain and pleasure of all his characters physically before he could write !'. I add a little more to this....'and  some he must have assimilated from the society he lives, his readings, the analysis, his everyday look at life and what not...That's why he is different, a creator. Again he writes it's actually not important who is the writer, what happened to him or in what personal mind state he wrote what he wrote.. But in literature it is important what he wrote, how close it is to universal truth, does it really happen in everyday life and does the true reader finds himself in the character, not the writer's ones and does it help him to live his life, does the literature the writer writes has the power to portray the pain, has the guts to bring a solution how anti contemporary it may look like or at the least does it have the power to sooth a wounded heart .... as someone somewhere feels his pain and cares to write about.... even  if he is unrelated to him.....That's the success of a writer, that's the pleasure of his being,to share someone's burden of life in his own way....
Many a times writers use a pen name because readers are sometimes merciless to misinterpret things, not take in the right spirit... Sometimes the readers are also so seasoned to read very mediocre stuff they get fumbled and stumbled if someone dares to write in his /her own name and writes literature which has the power to live beyond million years on Earth but tells truth fearlessly.... Because such write ups have so much value to give to the society actually it is not necessary to read even the writer's identity. Someone once asked one of my most respected writer, Amrita Pritam 'you are telling so much truth, some homes are sure going to break'...she smiled and calmly answered...'Homes are anyway breaking everyday, only difference is they are taking the help of heap of lies, let some of them take the help of my truth'....
When a human being per se,and a writer in particular goes beyond the limit of personal craze of pain and pleasure, appreciation and criticism and thinks beyond his entity then what he writes will be only truth and it will obviously start from his own experience/pain/pleasure/loneliness/loss/departure... But soon it will assimilate with the greater world beyond his self where he enters to an endless eternal truth and bottomless feeling of peace of looking beyond the horizon of his limited identity and seeking the divine blessings to write something to help someone, somewhere, someday...

  1. What a nice way to start the morning. Yes Swadhin as writers we can't stop writing when we get inspired. Where from this inspiration comes that we don't know but we feel it to be divine. See your own article, reading someone's article where you identified yourself , it inspired you and you perpetuated this beautiful piece. Manoj Das has described five type of writings. Will provide you that essays after I get it. Suppose a literature student appearing an exam and few words are given to make a story... He is bound to formulate one which may come good too but not at par with a true inspirational story. Some times don't we not write things beautiful which was not as per plan. Odiare kathatie nahiki... Saraswati kanthre basile... Maa sabubele tumbha kanthare basithantu. Your literature is not tomatoes that pershes. Thanks to the writer who brought this inspiration in you.

  2. Well said .....Peak experiences in life liberate us from our limited self ..... that is the time when we experience a glimpse of TRUTH and become aware our timeless identity..... "As a Creator" ..... Any thing created in that state has a overwhelming component of Love and Compassion ... Thats how it becomes so compellingly beautiful and attractive ....May it be a poetry..a music composition ...or a quote...or a performing art ..... Peak personal experiences are the doors through which we have a glimpse of eternity ...glimpse of truth .....
